Painting an Elephant’s Rear End – Songkran Water Festival – Ayutthaya, Thailand

We painted the elephants but it rained the following day. We had to repaint the giant mammals to lead the Songkran Water Festival and to squirt water on everyone and everything. And yes, I painted Peter’s rear end a second time. It is difficult because elephants sway. It is also difficult because they swish their tails. An elephant’s tail can be very demanding. We jumped into the trucks with the giant containers of water and rode through the city spraying water everywhere. Of course we were drenched too. What a blast! Happy New Year! Happy Songkran Water Festival! Thank you for Water and thank you for ELEPHANTS! Enjoy.
